Come support educators by making items for the DG PENCIL Box, Nashville's Free Educator Store. The DG PENCIL Box provides school supplies to any MNPS educator completely free of charge. Last year, we gave roughly $3 million in supplies to roughly 2,400 educators. We will make items for our Classroom Creatives that will save teachers time and money.
- Activities: PENCIL info session and
assisting Free Teacher Store: making fidgets, flashcards, or games. Other store responsibilities as needed.
- What to wear/bring: Volunteers should wear
closed toed shoes and comfortable clothing. We will have water bottles
available for you, but you are welcome to bring your own reusable bottle.
- Parking: is available in
designated volunteer parking spots or our back lot. When you turn into
PENCIL’s driveway, follow the sign to the access road to the left. It will
take you to a gravel lot where you can park.
- Entrance: From the gravel lot –
walk across the bridge towards the warehouse. The door that you will enter
through will be the last door to the right. It has our logo on it and says
“Welcome.”
- Check-in: will be with Robert
Moxley as you come into the building. Volunteers will be asked to scan a
QR code to sign in and we will get them started on their projects.
- COVID-19 Procedures: As of March 21st,
PENCIL is a mask optional facility, but we will have masks available for
anyone who would like to wear one.
